Stills of Super Slow Motion Video, GoPro Hero 10, 240fps

I tried to play with several studio lighting options, mainly using complementary colours, in super slow motion. I quickly realised that the GoPro does not react very well to low light environments, added to the decreased quality in the slow motion feature.

I wasn’t happy at all with the result, but I still found a few images interesting, due to their expressive nature and this quasi underwater feel. As I have done in the past, I played around with the curves of each colour and b+w to see what those images might look like in a more abstract form.

I went into the studio with no idea of what was going to come out, to be candid.

I’d worked with long exposures and projections before so I thought it could be a place to start. I’d say the results positively surprised me.

I became obsessed with a compromise between this abstract form and its somewhat human residue.
